While COVID-19 has limited the mobility of Canadians across the nation, York Region Transit understands that riders still need to get to where they’re going. In order to ensure the safety of both passengers and staff, they have implemented safety measures recommended by York Region Public Health.

Transit users are required to wear a mask or face covering while travelling on transit vehicles or waiting at facilities, and, where possible, are asked to practice social distancing. Riders are also encouraged to travel during off-peak times, and YRT has implemented enhanced cleaning measures of their vehicles and facilities.

The COVID-19 situation is currently ongoing, and YRT is monitoring developments. It is possible that further changes will be made to ensure the health and safety of all who use York Region Transit.
