Fort McMurray, we’ve got you covered for Wood Buffalo Transit!
Wood Buffalo transit is the proverbial new kid on the transit block. Founded in 1980, it services 16 regular bus routes every day with a fleet of 47 buses. The system reduces its services on weekends and does not operate on most holidays.
We want to help you arrive at your destination with a smile on your face and (hopefully) a warm coffee in your hand—if you have time to get it before you have to be at the bus stop. Bring Rocketman along, so your next ride on Wood Buffalo Transit is less stressful.
How to pay for Wood Buffalo Transit
Due to Covid-19, all municipal Transit Services are temporarily free of charge, including rural transit. Fees have been waived to remove interactions with drivers and passengers.
Typically, to ride Wood Buffalo Transit, you need to pay some form of fare. Fares can be paid by exact change, a one-ride ticket or a monthly pass. Unfortunately, drivers cannot make changes or sell passes on the bus. A regular adult fare is $1.50, which you can pay with exact change or a twoonie, but no change can be given.
